Halloween cont...

Kiddie Halloween party Nico hosted at our house

I do not think he can get any cuter than this! I can guarantee he won't let me put him in a pumpkin next year!

Mommy carved a pumpkin with his name in it. In case you can't tell, we love our baby!!!!

Happy Halloween!

Oh, the things we make this baby do for a cute picture!
My little tree frog

Ribbit!

Tuckered out after a wedding in West Palm Beach. Everyone loved his tie!

Nico was the best baby ever on our trip to West Palm Beach. Everyone asked if he ever cries. We had a great weekend, we just wish we could have stayed longer!

Fall Fun

We went to The Morton Arboretum this weekend to take some fun fall pictures of Nico and us as a family. He was wearing the perfect fall outfit so he looked ADORABLE and people kept stopping us to look at our little "model"! We had a happy baby (like we always do!)and got some great pictures. Lou and I went to The Morton Arboretum last fall when I was pregnant and we couldn't wait to bring our baby here to take pictures...so that is what we did! It was a little chilly but Nico was a trooper. We LOVE our boy!!!!!!!!!
Could that face seriously get any cuter???????????

Nico is growing so fast. He is now army crawling and getting into everything. The baby proofing is definitely necessary now. He is getting ready to start crawling so it is fun to watch him start getting up on his hands and knees. He is a wiggle worm now and it is getting near impossible to change a diaper or get him dressed. Nico also has quite a little sense of humor...when we "bite" his fingers or toes he laughs at us...however this has backfired because he will take my finger and chomp down on it with those 2 sharp baby teeth of his and then laugh....I guess it is our fault! He is a very fun baby and we are really enjoying all of his new accomplishments and his little personality that is shining through!

Nico in his Office...he is very busy!

This is when he had just turned 6 months. He is a pro in there now.

7 months old!!

My little pumpkin in the pumpkin patch!
1st pony ride! He didn't care about the horse he just wanted to eat the saddle! He is so funny!

Nico and grandma at Uncle Tyler and Uncle Andy's Triathelon. Isn't that the cutest hat you have ever seen?

My matching boys! There was a big Northwestern game on so daddy and Nico got ready to watch the game together. He has officially said his 1st word...."dada!" Of course no one is more proud and excited about that than daddy. He also says "hi" or "hi dad" all of the time. He is so smart saying 2 word sentences already!!!! He does say it a lot but he does say it when he sees daddy too so I think he knows what he is saying but he doesn't always know when to say it. I still think he is a smarty pants though and am a proud mama.....and yes...we are still working on "mama!"

Nico taking a ride on Uncle Tyler's back. It is a rough life being a baby!

6 Months Old!

Isn't this the cutest tush you have ever seen????????

My boy loves to be nakie! Look at that smile on his face! I think he is the only baby who LOVES having his diaper changed. Everytime I take his diaper off he laughs. He is so funny!

Lou, Nico and I went to Iowa City for Labor Day weekend to visit Auntie Lindsey and Uncle Andy. They bought a hiking backpack for baby Jack so we put Nico in there like a high chair while we ate dinner. He loved being a part of the dinner conversation.

He has not even ever had rice cereal yet but his first food was a carrot stick (he is very advanced...just kidding :) We rented a pontoon boat in Iowa City so we had some veggies and dip on board and Nico now has a second tooth coming in so he is chewing like crazy. I thought he would enjoy chewing on a carrot stick and I was right. He thought he was so cool eating real food. He only has 1/2 of a tooth right now and he was actually shaving off little pieces of carrot with it.

This is about the only time he loved his life jacket. The rest of the time he tolerated it but he was not thrilled with it. He couldn't get his hands in front of him to get toys or his pacifier in his mouth but he was a good little boater despite his frustrations. It was our last shot at something summery before fall kicks in. Next year he will be walking all over and climbing on the boat seats and Jack will be crawling around. I do not think the boat ride will be quite

Milestones!

Nico learned to roll over last week! It is so funny because he rolled over once on Wednesday, once on Thursday and about 40 times on Friday. I can't just set him anywhere and leave the room for a second, now he is just rolling all over the place and trying to scoot to things. I feel like this boy will be crawling in no time! I will try to post a video of it soon.

Also this morning he started to chew on my thumb and something scraped me. I looked in his mouth and there is a bottom tooth starting to poke through! I think he is going to look so cute with a few little teeth in there but I am really going to miss his big toothless smile :) Now that he is getting teeth he is going to have to adjust his kissing style a little for the sake of those on the receiving end of his kisses. He opens his mouth nice and wide and presses so hard onto your face that you have to start laughing. Then, often he ends up turning that kiss into a big love bite on your chin which will not feel to good with little teeth because it actually really hurts with no teeth! I have never seen a baby this small attack people daily with his kisses...so to all the little girls out there...beware of Nico Chiappetta!

Louie, Nico and I have had a great summer together. We love taking Nico places and doing things with him and it will only get more fun as Nico gets older and excited about this too! He has really been such a good baby and has such a little personality already. He may look a lot like me but I think he definately has Louie's personality.

5 months old and quite the jet setter!

Lou celebrated his birthday on Aug. 2nd with Nico and I. He wanted to take Nico to his 1st White Sox game so Nico got all dressed up in his Sox gear. So far every baseball game he has been to has had back to back home runs so Lou thinks that is a good sign that Nico will have good luck playing baseball someday! It was a perfect "boy" birthday. Happy Birthday Daddy! Then Aug. 4th was Tyler and my dad's birthday and Nico turns 5 months old so it has been a birthday week!
Lou has been super super busy at work lately and he had a work trip to NYC last week. Since we had hardly seen Lou, Nico and I went along on the trip to try to spend some time with him. Our hotel was right in Times Square so we had a great location. We were there for 5 days so each day Nico and I walked around a different area of the city. Nico loves his stroller and looking around at everything and I love the shopping!!! Poor daddy had to work the whole time. We missed him!

I love this picture! He kept this hat on all day and didn't even try to touch it once. Plus, as you can see, he is quite flexible and has now discovered that he can put his toes in his mouth. As often as he possibly can, he puts those toes in his mouth. He cracks me up!

He is goin' in for the kiss! He loved his Auntie Kristin whom he met for the first time. She lives in NYC and when I was 19 weeks pregnant she was actually the first person other than Lou to feel him kick. It made Auntie Lindsey a little sad so she sat with her hand on my baby bump all night until she finally felt him kick! So funny! We met Kristin at her apartment one night and then for lunch a few times in Central Park. I see her about once a year and it was like no time had passed...we picked up right where we left off which is so great. We love you Kristin!!!

Nico is sitting on the anchor! My dad and my grandpa and my uncle Randy built the harbor in Okoboji. There is a picture of my grandpa next to this anchor when the job was complete so I wanted a picture of Nico in the same spot. It is special to our family. I think we will have to blow up the picture nice and big so we can see Nico!
Happy 4th of July!

So comfortable in the pool he fell asleep!!!

Happy Father's Day! I got Lou & Nico matching outfits for the big day. Lou's shirt says "My kid totally rocks!" and Nico's shirt says "My dad totally rocks!" So cute!

Nakie boy!

4 Months old!

Nico's feet in the cold Pacific Ocean
Lou graduated in December from law school but he walked through the ceremony this spring. We are so proud of Lou!

Nico petting a very friendly goat at the San Diego Zoo

Nico is a great kisser! He loves to do it and they are some pretty good open mouth slobbery kisses! He cracks me up!

At 10 weeks old Nico went to his first Cubs game. There was a home run right when we sat down so Lou was excited that was the first baseball Nico ever saw. Nico got so much attention from the ladies with his Cubs outfit and daddy holding him so mommy said they are never allowed to go to a game without her!

Wow! I have lots of catching up to do on here. It is hard to sit down at the computer when it is summer! Plus, we have been very busy. Lou, Nico and I went on our first family trip to San Diego, CA when Nico was 3 1/2 months old. He had his first plane ride which he was pretty good on and we went to SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and explored the town. We had cool cloudy weather but we still had a great time and covered a lot of ground in 3 days! Nico absolutely loved having Lou and I all to himself 24 hours a day and had some sleeping separation problems when we got back. Lou gave me the trip for my 1st Mother's Day and we celebrated his 1st Father's Day there. Then for the week before the 4th of July we took Nico back to Okoboji, IA and Okabena, MN to visit all of my extended family. We had a great time but again the weather did not want to cooperate! My parents, Tyler, Lindsey and Andy came too so it was fun to take Nico to our favorite spots and let him spend some time with his great grandparents and our cousins. Lou has been putting in a ton of hours at work lately which is good for his job but hard to have him gone so much from Nico and I. Lou really misses the baby while he is gone of course so when he is home he is all about taking care of Nico and giving him lots of love. Nico and I spend a lot of our time going on walks, having play dates and swimming in the pool. Nico is a water baby!!! That makes mommy very happy! He rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back at 3 1/2 mos! He cried after the first time he rolled over...I think it surprised him! My dad said it was because he knows a good wrestler should never be on his back! He laughs and smiles all of the time now which we love. He smiles whenever anyone talks to him and he has the flirtiest smile. I feel like we might be in trouble with this one! He laughs everytime I change his diaper and take off his shirt....he likes to be naky boy! We are so in love with him and there are times I look at him and I just cannot stand how much I love him. Lou and I have to restrain ourselves from literally eating him up!

My first giggles!

Nico has been laughing silently for quite some time. This past Thursday, right at 11 weeks, he let out his first giggles. It is the cutest thing. Press PLAY to listen.

Knakmuhs wedding

We went to Minn. for our family friend, Andrea Knakmuhs's, wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and so fun to see all of the Knakmuhs's and Larsons. Nico even slept for a few hours during the reception while the DJ was blasting the music! Amazing!
Nico and Molly. She really loved holding him. Doesn't he look so grown up in that outfit?

Nico and Lindsay. We call her his Wild Aunt Lindsay so we can differentiate between her and my sister!

Here is Nico with his little girlfriend Lauren! Matt and I are 6 weeks apart in age and now we have babies exactly 8 weeks apart! There is a picture of Matt and I sitting on the beach together when we were babies so we thought it would be fun to have pictures of of our babies together so they can look back 20 years from now and see that they have been friends since infancy!

2 Months!

Nico, my mom, Lindsey and I took a trip to Iowa & Minn. to visit both sets of my grandparents and to go to a family friends wedding. It was a lot to do in a short period of time but Nico was a trooper and it was so great for my grandparents to meet him! Nico is the first great grandchild on my mom's side of the family. Here is the first 4 generation photo!
Nico and my Nana! She loves little babies!

Nico and my grandpa August who Nico's middle name is after. There is a long line of Augusts in our family so my grandpa was excited to meet the newest little August!

Lou was sworn in as an official lawyer last Thursday! Nico and I went to watch the ceremony and Nico wore his "Future Lawyer" bib. He knows how important it is to dress the part and everyone thought it was so cute! He was so proud of his daddy!

Nico smiles and gets so excited now! It is so fun to talk to him because he always smiles back. He tries to laugh but no sound comes out yet! It is hilarious! I took him for his 2 month appointment and he now weighs 11lbs 4 oz and is 24 inches long. He is in the 80th % for height and the 40th for weight. The Dr said he will probably be long and lean. I have already had to pack away some of his 0-3 mo. clothes because they are too short in the legs. He has long legs!

Baptism

Nico was baptized on Sunday May 3rd. His godparents are Lindsey and Joe. He was such a good boy and looked so sweet. My mom made his baptism outfit and he was adorable in it! It was a special day for him.
