And the scrubs are on...

They just wheeled Desiree into the OR to have the baby via c-section. He just decided that was the way he wanted to come into the world. The baby will probably be born in just a few minutes, but we won't get to go see Desi or the baby for two hours. Lou promised he would take lots of pictures and run out and show us. I will try to swap cameras with him so I can post a few. We can't wait to see his sweet face!

At the hospital

(Aunt Lindsey updating)
Des before we left for the hospital this morning....and after having contractions all night and zero sleep! Poor mama!

Here is Lou saying that he would like six children. Such a funny guy!

Des and her two labor coaches...so far we are doing well. Or I should say Des is doing really well!
The midwife broke her water around 2:30 and she has been laboring in the shower since. The contractions are about 3 minutes apart and are lasting 1-1.5 minutes. I think Baby Boy C will be here shortly. Stay tuned...

2 weeks to go until our baby boy's due date! Lou is taking the bar exam Feb. 24th and 25th so he has been studying like crazy. Every day when I leave for work he says, "Keep that baby in there!" I am sure I can keep him in here for another week and once that bar exam is done I will be ready to see my baby boy. I feel great and I am still going to work up until I have the baby. I do have a fear of squatting down in preschool to talk to a little kid and my water breaking. I told maintenance to be ready for a cleanup! My mom & I went on a hospital tour last night and that was fun to see where I will be giving birth and spending the first few days with my baby. The rooms look super nice and newly decorated and pretty big so I think it will be a nice experience. I need to get my car seat installed today and then everything will be totally ready for him to come...after Lou takes the bar of course!

3.5 weeks to go!

Oh yes, and Lou has his Bar Exam the end of the month. This picture shows a bit of his stress!

Showered!

Sunday was our beautiful baby shower. It was held at St. Andrews and Baby Boy Chiappetta was certainly "showered"! Here is a picture of the candy bar favors...
My friend Laura made over 70 of these adorable lifesaver pacifiers. So cute!
The baby also loved this delicious Chocolate Raspberry cake!
Who would have guessed, blue flowers!
Lou took a break from studying to attend the shower. Hopefully he wasn't too overwhelmed with all of the fun baby stuff!
Thanks to everyone for sharing the day with us and for all of the beautiful gifts.

Nursery: In Progress

One of our guest bedrooms has been painted this blue color since we moved in. When we found out we were having a boy, Lou decided that certainly this room should become the nursery!

With the help of my mom, Lindsey, and Tyler, we added the brown stripes on Saturday. In addition, we added some additional shelves in his closet. (Note, the mattress is not in the crib yet. That is just a folded up blanket.)
We received our crib bedding and accessories from Lou's parents for our shower and the nursery furniture from my parents. Baby Chiappetta is going to LOVE his room!
And here's the baby himself!
We ordered a dresser and chair for the room which should arrive in the next week or two. After that, we will be able to put up the wall hangings and really finish the nursery.

32 week shots

A few impromptu shots taken by Aunt Lindsey. Less than 8 weeks until the due date!
